Horse Slaughter is illegal in the US because of animal rights activists. But what people don't realize is there putting more stress and abuse on horses by putting them on trucks for a longer distance and more time. Especially when they get to the borders. They aren't killed humanely out of states. They get moved around more and so on. If you opened up plants for horses in the US it would create thousands of jobs and revenue for the states cities and government. It would also get rid of unwanted horses that people let starve because they can't afford to feed them or just turn them out in some random field.
