House the homeless families who have serious and persistent mental illness. It is sad, the housing is so scarce in NYC!

Created by D.F. on November 17, 2012

It is so awfully sad that the homeless shelters in NYC are recieving 3,000 and more dollars per month to put mentally ill families into shelters when that money could be used to place them in permanent housing. There are people who are suffering for housing that have sickle anemia, are on oxygen, have developmental disabilits and mental illness. There are elderly people who have worked and paid taxes for so many years that suffer in these homeless shelters. They are under stress as they have not enough income to find suitable housing. I have not heard Obama or Romney or whoever speaking about making sure that these types of indiviuals are in permanent housing. IT IS A SHAME.
