HR block has mishandled 600,000+ tax payers taxes by causing delays on the IRS processing return with form 8863

H&R Block mishandled hundreds of thousands of returns that had a form 8863 and filed prior to Feb 22, 2013. Their software error has caused delays for people upwards of 8 weeks longer than the normal IRS return processing time. This has affected thousands of people livelihood who were dependent on this money. The people affected are students or parents of students who need this money for tuition and supply cost among other things. More importantly this is delaying their ability to fill out their FAFSA for the 2013-2014 year. H&R Block is negligent because they failed to address the issue with their clients until it became newsworthy. They blamed the IRS and did not accept any responsibility for their software error that affected thousands.
