Now,people in Chengdu are against building a chemical plant near the city.But soldiers and policemen are almost everywhere in the city suppressing the people ruthlessly by force.Some people including teenagers are arrested because they complain about it.Citizens are warned not to go to places where there are lots of people.High school students are not allowed to leave school.
It's reported that Chengdu will hold FORTUNE GLOBAL FORUM in June.And some Americans like Jeff Bewkes of Time Warner Inc. seem to attend the forum. How can a city hold such an important forum if the basic rights of speaking can not be protected?
I sincerely hope the White House can take steps to stop Fortune Magazine from holding it in Chengdu.And please look into the human rights crisis there.
