I believe US military personnel that are wounded or injured as a result of hostile action on humanitarian missions should receive either a purple heart or a unique medal such as a crimson or golden heart to signify they were wounded as a result of hostile actions. Or change the language for a purple heart to include all "Real World Missions". It isn't fair that we are excluded because it is a non combat theater. It also hinders veterans trying to obtain benefits as they have no "proof" of an operation that would leave them injured since it is a humanitarian action.
