I am concerned that laws for animals abuse are not harsh enough. This needs to be changed, no more slap across the wrist

As a pet owner, I would like to ask President Obama to pass a law that would place an animal abuser in jail, no more slaps across the wrist. There are to many animals being hurt, killed and nothing is done about it. I know that as a pet owner yourself Mr. President the punishment should fit the crime. No more letting the people that abuse animals get away with it. Does not matter what kind of abuse, the punishment must be harsher. Animals need a voice to protect them from these people. So please pass a law for harsher punishment.
