In the US, thousands public computers keep their power on for months, millions of families keep the light turned on for whole night. That rendered unnecessarily waste of energy.
I really hope President Obama can give a speech sometime to the public to persuade people turn out light before they going to the bed no matter they live in apartment, house, even dormitories of schools.
This is the real ECO way, you don't need to turn out city light on some certain day per year but please turn out the light, even if you don't concern with other people, save energy means save money for your self.
