I ask congressman Michael Burgess to write and vote on legislation to pay our state firefighters.

I am very please when governor Rick Perry raised taxes on fireworks that he used the money to balance our state budget. I am very upset that our state did not come up with enough funding to pay our fire fighter so they can pay for their equipment like their fire trucks, fire hats, and uniforms. We have to balance our state budget but it is very critical we find away to generate enough revenue to pay our fight fighters by raising taxes on fireworks by 5 cents, matches by 5 cents, and candles by 5 cents. If raising taxes by 15 more cents is what is necessary to pay our state firefighter than that is what must need to be done.
