I ask congressman Michael Burgess to write legislation that repeals the No Child Left Behind Act and teacher unions.

I am a firm supporter of school choice which starts with the parents and the kids. The schools both public and private are here to serve the kids and parents in our communities not the other way around. Between the parent and the child they should have the flexibility to choose between home schooling, hiring a tutor, choosing between a public or voucher schools. If parents choose to send their kids to a school outside of zip code area where they don't pay taxes they should have the flexibility to do so. For our state public school teachers in Texas for middle and low income parents who are unable to afford to send their kids to a voucher school I petition to raise state lottery ticket taxes by 5 cents and state horse bidding taxes at Lone Star Park in Dallas by 5 cents.
