Our state legislator has cut off federal funding for healthcare for womens health and military families. Our state is on a budget. We need to keep balancing our state budget but in order to fund our own state funds for healthcare for mammagrams for breast cancer screening for women and other screenings for women, men, veterans, and military families I ask congressman Michael Burgess to write and sign legislation for Texas to raise some taxes to fund health and human service programs for women and military families by raising cigaret taxes by 5 cents, alcohol taxes by 5 cents, tobacco taxes by 5 cents, soda pop taxes by five cents, cigar taxes by five cents, and candy taxes by five cents. Since Texas has no income tax it is neccessary for our state to find ways to come up with revenue.
