I believe after years of first hand experience, our American Criminal Justice system needs an overhaul.

"Everyone deserves a second chance" is in the psyches of all Americans, because as imperfect beings no one is immune from making a mistake.Yet, just one felony conviction, most of your constitutional RIGHTS, not privileges, are stripped away. Simply stated though you can not VOTE, own a firearm , obtain any work, and business licenses and permits, you are still expected to pay taxes and follow the laws of the USA, just without the rights! You are officially a third class citizen. Change convicts to productive citizens, not helpless, hopeless career criminals. On a constitutional law level, we fought THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION on a premise of "no taxation without representation". The 2nd amendment is for everyone. To strip a con of a means to have an income and life, dooms us all.
