I believe the Department of Defense needs to update their policy regarding keratoconus, due to the fact that there are current treatments to stop the progression of this disease. The current military policy states that anyone with keratoconus are not provided with an opportunity to serve in the armed forces and I believe that this is wrong and the policy is outdated and should be updated to fit the current treatments regarding stopping and improving vision in keratoconus patients.
