To "defeat" the cheap outsourcing of menial labor to foreign countries, the United States must offer a more lucrative alternative to businesses. Everyone knows that robots will come to dominate menial labor jobs. If not within the next 4 years, then it will happen in this decade. I propose that we jump the curve, arrive at the future first, so to speak. Invest in robotic manufacturing today. How will this help the common man whose jobs these robots will take? Robots are stupid! Someone has to oversee them, inspect the quality of their work, etc. Moreso, robot manufacturing plants need vast quantities of raw materials to function. Robot plants will create an entire industry of mining for rare earth metals, and the processing needed to feed the raw metals to robot plants. Get there first!
