I petition congress to sign a federal amendment to the US constitution to legalize civil unions in all fifty states.

Created by M.K. on May 26, 2013

I strongly oppose marriage equality and support tradionally marriage being between one man and one women as far as family rights for kids. I believe marriage should be up to the states and locals. I live in a very conservative state called Texas and support living in a red state with traditional marriage legislation. However, I support civil unions for gays where their rights are protected. Religious institutions will not have to protect gay rights just so religious faith isn't interviened with. This civil union would however prohibit justice of the piece, local and state governments from keeping gays from getting married. To get marriage same sex couples have to join a civil union. If they don't then they may only cross over state lines in states where it is legal.
