I petition congressman Michael Burgess to write and vote on legislation to cut Texas's state sales tax.

Created by M.K. on May 26, 2013

Texas has a very strong economy with more job growth and opportunity. We would like to keep Texas prosperious by lowering our state sales tax from 36 percent to only 10 percent. A lower state sales tax means more hard earned money kept. Everysingle penny earned and saved should be everysingle penny kept. In order to allow our state economy which is out of the recession with only 6 percent unemployment to be stronger with more natural stimulous and growth is to lower our state consumption tax rate from 36 percent to only 10 percent. A much lower fair tax rate means more spending and consumption meaning more revenue generated not from new taxes but new people paying taxes. Closing tax loopsholes and reforming corporate welefare is more than half of the battle.
