I strongly believe that a person being with a carrier for 3 months or more with good account standing should be able to unlock the phone with his carrier. Unlocking a phone with the carrier gives a consumer a freedom to use his cell phone internationally using prepaid simcard of the country that particular consumer is traveling to.
