I think is it excellent idea to have 12/24 off, since I lot of ssa employee, either have that day off or they call in.

If possible it will be a excellent idea since, SSA office run on that day with very minimun staff and the ones that r workingt
call in . not to many claimant come in to the ssa. that is money that the gov can safe.
