The answer given was a bit PC. You could have just said.
"No, I don't want to legalize a crop that grows faster then trees, makes great textiles such as paper, has been unfairly portrayed, and was a great crop in the past."
Honestly, why not grow hemp? It's not as complicated as some would have us believe.
