The tea party did not successfully turn the republican party back to the grass roots of smaller, less intrusive, sound money cost effective government. The republican party needs a new majority party taking charge which is the libertarian party. I fear if this doesn't happen right now the republican party will be like the Whigs and go extinct and the libertarian party will be the new majority party. In order to avoid the republican party from turning into a minority party like the whiggs it is going to take conservative libertarians who are focused on up and down issues not right or left issues to have very serious debates between social conservatives and Washington Establishment republicans. Now is the time to let conservative libertarians take charge of the republican party.
