Once people know basic reading, writing, and can speak proper English class time could be used in better ways. Although these classes should still be available, I do not believe they should be not be mandatory to graduate. The class time could instead be used to become more prepared to enter a world full of opportunities that no longer require the language skills of past generations due to technological advances.
