Jeannette Rankin was the first woman elected to Congress in 1916 and became a member of the House of Representatives. She was the only women to cast a Congressional vote in favor of the Constitutional Amendment granting women unconditional voting rights.
The Nineteenth Amendment (Amendment XIX) to the United States Constitution prohibits any United States citizen from being denied the right to vote on the basis of sex. It was ratified on August 18, 1920.
For the above reasons, I believe she deserves consideration for replacement of Andrew Jackson on the $20 dollar bill.
