Effective immediately:
1) Reinstate the Assault Weapons Ban
2) Require Universal Background Checks and 2 week waiting periods
3) Ban gun sales to people with documented histories of violent crimes, domestic abuse, terrorist connections, or with household members with such documented histories
4) Require all new guns to have safety technology installed, such as fingerprint identification
5) Require all gun purchasers and owners to obtain liability insurance
6) Require all ammunition sales/purchases to be reported and registered
7) Require all discharges of ammunition to be reported to law enforcement in both the jurisdiction of discharge and jurisdiction of registration
This petition needs no explanation beyond the endless and heinous cycle of gun violence in this country.
