We need legislation passed to prevent a hospital or doctor's office from charging non-covered fees. This would make it illegal for Radiologists, reading of xrays, other doctors that perform tests related to treatment from being independent.
If a hospital or doctors office accepts assignment, and states they accept your insurance, everything would be covered and they could not use anyone not accepting assignment.
In addition, a hospital or doctor's office would be required by law to list all services covered, and what is outsourced and not covered.
This would protect patients rights, and make healthcare more affordable. With honesty and disclosure, being mandatory.
