Back in the 60's, when the space program was in its infancy, we were able to dream of exploration and discovery. And those dreams were best expressed by the TV series "Star Trek", and voyaging to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life, to boldly go where no one had gone before.
And now, NASA is developing a warp drive. If they are successful, we could become a star faring race in our lifetimes. And the people working on this project were inspired by "Star Trek".
So, if we are to explore the universe, and continue as dreamers, that first starship must be named "Enterprise".
