If necessary, use an Executive Order to avoid a government shutdown and/or raise the debt ceiling.

Signing this petition will help pressure Congress to avoid a government shutdown and/or further harm to our debt rating due to not increasing the debt ceiling. This petition is meant to be used as proof to both Congressional Republicans and the Administration that the American people support the President if an Executive Order is required to avoid these two events. Ideally, the President does not have to use this petition to justify an Executive Order. With enough signatures, sufficient pressure will be put on Congressional Republicans to ensure that a compromise occurs and these events are both averted.
