There are several petitions that are requesting secession from the United States of America. Many of the signatories are not residents of the states for the petitions they have signed. Since residency in a state is key to determining whether or not a person has a lawful say in the laws and leaders of their state, it should be unlawful to sign a petition for a state to secede unless that state be your own.
Any signatures for secession by an out of state resident should be considered invalid and should not count towards the total number of signatures needed for action by the White House or the Obama administration.
