If, and we say IF, Texas does secede from the United States, then we would like the Greater Houston-Galveston metropolitan area (13 counties of Harris, Galveston, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Montgomery, Liberty, Walker, Waller, Austin, Colorado, Wharton, and Matagorda) to secede from Texas and remain part of the United States of America to continue mutually economic and defensive connection with the United States. The 1845 treaty between the Republic of Texas and the United States give Texas the right to split into five (5) states and we suggest we use that right. In addition, we suggest the possible name for the area as "District of Galvez" or "State of Galvez" in honor of Galveston Bay and city of Galveston which was named after New Spain Viceroy, Bernardo de Galvez.
