With the growing list of petitions being signed that are requesting that states be enabled to "Peacefully withdraw from the United States of America," the President of the United States should call their bluffs.
In the case of Texas, for instance, warn those petitioners that, upon succession, all federal monies would be immediately withdrawn.
And that all border patrol activities would cease.
Also, warn the state that if it continues to follow through with it's desire to secede, the Territory of Puerto Rico could be given serious consideration to gain full statehood status - including full voting rights.
Because Texas is so heavily dominated by Republicans, such a move could help guarantee Democratic electoral victories for decades.
