National Holidays must be declared by act of Congress, not the President. Furthermore, a National Super Bowl Holiday places too much emphasis on one particular sport and on professional sports in general. This is not a healthy initiative for a country that rates so poorly worldwide in education. Also, another frivolous national holiday will lead to further demands for paid time off by public employees and teachers nationwide. American taxpayers and students already suffer enough from lack of vital services due to frivolous holidays. State and municipal budgets will in most cases not be able to pay the additional holiday. Not everyone in America is a football fanatic.
