Ignore party. Ignore loyalty. Stop acting like children. Fix the country.

The childish schoolyard practices of Congress have led to a complete government shutdown. This is a slap to the face of the American people. Our own government has failed to represent us, and such a situation is unacceptable. Neither side acts as though they are competent at governing an entire nation, and it needs to end. By shutting down the federal government, millions of people are damned. People who depend on funding for treatment of illnesses, including the veterans that politicians claim to revere, are now without the support they need to live. The federal government must make concessions, on both sides, for the sake of the people it has utterly failed to represent tonight. You are our servants. We are paying you to fix the nation. We order you to do it.
