The second amendment was created in a very different time when America was facing threats that required their citizens to bear arms to ensure safety. Today those threats no longer exist and we have a defence force keeping us safe, as such the citizens no longer need to carry around weapons for safety. Like it or not; the "right" to bear arms is WELL past it's 'use-by' date.
It's time to start with a clean slate for real reform on gun control. Nullify the second amendment and ensure that people who are mentally fit to bear arms are the only ones that can do so.
