The though of separating from the United States should be the last resort after all other attempts at changing the government have been exhausted. It may be true that the federal government has grown too large however the proper first step is not a request for withdrawal from the union. The individual states have passed laws that conflict with federal laws and the response from the federal government should be to respect the wishes of the state voters.
