It is unfair and unjust that the candidates in our democracy are primarily funded by corporations and business. Such financial contributions undermine and marginalize the interests of citizens, and assure that corporations are given a larger say in government than the constituences of those in elected office. Furthermore, candidates are already given public funds, and with vastly larger pockets than third-party and independent candidates, they insure their own re-election and act as barriers for said third-parties to office. Lobbying is much the same, and has led to the degradation and corrosion of our democracy by special interests and the corporate elite, who also, for the most part, abuse the workers and natural resources of third-world countries.
