It is appalling that a petition regarding the deportation of Justin Beiber has attained over 100,000 signatures, whereas a decision regarding the death penalty has not garnered enough signatures to be addressed by the White House.
The decision is clearly straight-forward, and the wrongful execution of an innocent person can never be amended. The execution of Troy Davis has proven this, yet the death penalty is still in effect in 32 states.
The cost of lethal injection has grown exponentially in the past few years, and does not appear to have steadied.
We ask that the death penalty be abolished nationwide.
