That illegals be given the option to apply for permanent residency with no right to vote.

Citizenship (the right to vote) should not be a reward for those who entered our country illigaly.
Persons who are in our counrty without the proper visas have violated our immigration laws, a very serious action, punishable by deportation.
Granted, we have allowed this to happen by lack of sufficent enforcement. As a practical accomodation, these persons should be given the option to apply for legal permanent residency, but not a path to citizenship. Their US-born off springs and minors should be exempted from this no-citizenship restriction.
They should only be allowed to petiton for visas for their families (spouse and children).
Our nation's borders must be declared secured. Future violators should be deported immediately.
We must to remain a nation that upholds its laws.
