April is Child Abuse Awareness Month. This month we need to bring awareness and education to this epidemic where close to 3 million child abuse cases are reported each year. Since most go unreported, experts believe this number could reach closer to 9 million. Every 10 seconds a child is abused in the US and 6 will die due to the abuse.
As a nation we must come together and be the voice for our children. Join Charlotte Walk Against Child Abuse on April 19, 2014 to walk for our children to bring awareness and to demand stricter sentencing for the vicious crimes against our nation’s children.
On this day, let us join together in this fight and request the White House to unify with us by being illuminated in Blue to honor those children that have died and for the ones that will be protected.
