Current immigration laws are controlled by the Federal government making it so that individual States cannot create new laws to deport people who are found to be here illegally. Currently the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement will only deport those people who they label as violent offenders and they tend to overlook the vast majority of illegals who are reported to them. There are over 12 million people in America illegally right now, a large percentage of them utilize the welfare system that can barely support U.S. citizens, as well as causing a financial burden to tax payers for unpaid medical bills and housing them in jails in the U.S. This needs to change.
