Many veterans are unaware of the lasting damages done to them by a little code which a military administrator placed on the bottom of your long form DD-214.
Even if you received an honorable discharge and have living and exemplary life style, you can still be barred from certain types of employment when the review your military DD-214 long form.
Veterans should leave the military (if honorably discharged) just like any other American separating from his/her employer.
I was a highly decorated Marine E-6, but due to family difficulty, I had a problem at the conclusion of ten years (three good conduct awards) of active service to my nation. As I was processing to leave the Marines, a E-7 told me that if I did not re-enlist, he would place a code for conscientious objector on my DD-214.
