We the People in remembrance, refer to our petition as 'The Newtown Amendment', request immediate Executive action to amend the National Firearms Act (title II of the gun control act of 1968); types of firearms that must be registered with the ATF according to the National Firearm Registration and Transfer Record as defined in the NFA and 27 CFR, Part 479 to include the semi-automatic versions of the following weapons and their variants:
- M-2 Carbine – Machine Gun
- M-14 Machine Gun and descendants (a.k.a. AR series)
- AK47 Assault Rifle
- MP-43, MP-44 and STG-44 Assault Rifles
We request that retail sales cease immediately upon Executive signature and that all existing weapons be sequestered until such registration has been completed with the ATF.
