Because white supremacists have infiltrated law enforcement and have been reportedly doing so since 2006, we are asking this Administration to implement an independent citizen’s review panel immediately, complete with the power to indict when necessary, as a means to offer families who have been victimized by the police, an alternative to the failing "police policing police" system we currently have. Additionally, we are asking this Administration to mandate immediate police reform, wherein police will be further required to complete a semi-annual mental evaluation for stability and an annual training course in de-escalation, leadership and diversity to develop and maintain the desired level of professionalism, sensitivity and diversity practices that are necessary in public service.
