immediately address the issue of the glorification of violence in movies and video games.

Created by T.S. on December 17, 2012

The goal of this petition is to force the President and his administration to introduce legislation that either bans outright or at least dramtically limits access to violent content in movies and video games. The depiction of mass murder and the glorification of violence without consequences prevalent in movies and video games today have desensatized our society to the taking of human life. The kids that did the shooting in Columbine were inspired by the movie "The Matrix" and the shooter in the Aurora movie theater took his que from the villian in "The Dark Knight". It is clear that the content of these movies and video games represent a threat to public safety. We believe that this content represents a vast overreach of the protections of the First Amendment.
