The signers of this petition request for any past or present iterations of the PRISM Surveillance Program to cease immediately.
We, the people have the right to Freedom of Speech and have given the Government the ability to request information through lawful and transparent means (US DOJ Freedom of Information Act, US DOJ Privacy Act) which should be used for the retention of information.
The Government must release a transparent account, description and full intention of use of PRISM in accordance with Executive Branch Memorandum M-10-16 regarding the Open Government Directive.
Government surveillance has been used in the past by other governments. We are a country of Democracy and will not stand for secretive government surveillance in a digital age.
