Effective October 1st, 2013, veterans and their families who reside more than 100 miles from a military treatment facility will no longer be eligible for TRICARE Prime benefits. They will be forced to switch to TRICARE Standard or Extra with significant increased out-of-pocket expenses for health care.
It should not matter where our veterans choose to retire, they have earned this benefit regardless of their locale. To strip them of the benefit they earned through the sacrifice of blood, sweat, tears, and lenghty deployments is both incomprehensible and reprehensibe.
