The federal government has engaged in targeted killings of enemy combatants via drone strike as part of the on-going War on Terror. Recently, documents were published which revealed that the federal government believes it has the legal authority to carry out these targeted killings on American citizens if the government deems them to be enemy combatants.
Whereas all targeted killings are blatant human rights violations, and whereas the targeted killing of an American citizen without due process is an obvious violation of the 5th Amendment, we respectfully demand that the federal government immediately end the targeted killings of American citizens and rescind all claimed legal authority allowing such.
