Our immigration and nationality act has serious aspects that make it very unfair to everyone who is in this country, regardless of the immigrant's status under the current law. It does not allow for an immigration court that is independent within our federal government, and allows for excessive immigration service fees, and the majority of the INA's provisions tend to favor detention over alternatives for immigrants awaiting trial. As an immigrant myself, I urge your administration to compel our congress to study every aspect of the INA so it can be changed with a law that preserves the childbirth provisions, caps on immigration fees, restrictions on deportations, and other aspects.
