In the wake of an increasing amount of mass murders at the hands of seemingly harmless but mentally unstable citizens, our country needs to take an immediate and strong position against mass casualties due to assault style gun violence. The right to bear arms is too ingrained in our country's history and our current society to be completely removed, but the right to own a weapon capable of firing 1000 rounds in a matter of minutes is not and should not be part of our country's history and our current society. Our country goes to war to eliminate weapons of mass destruction but we allow our own citizens to own weapons of mass destruction.
Our country can't make it illegal to be insane, but it should ban anyone (mentally stable or not) from owning a gun with insane killing capability.
