immediately enact harsher gun laws in response to the unfathomable amount of gun violence in America right now.

This past weekend, 37 people were shot in Chicago the span of 4 days. On Thursday, 13 people were shot over the course of 30 minutes. Every day, I turn on the news and am confronted with a story involving gun violence somewhere in America. Over the past few months, I have been astounded by the number of stories involving gun violence to the point that I am wary about leaving the house. My point is that this is absolutely insane. I understand that Americans, especially Republicans, want to preserve their "right to bear arms," but frankly, that was written at a time when the only guns around were muskets. It is absolutely ludicrous that average people should have such easy access to automatic weapons when Americans are dying left and right.
