In June 2013 NSA analyst Edward Snowden brought to light details about the the very secretive PRISM Program. Under this program the search histories of countless Americans has been collected. Using a dragnet style search, the federal government has said that the programs main aim is to track the communication of terrorists over seas. While this may be its main goal, the fact that information (which many Americans believe should be private) is being swept up. This should cause alarm among any Americans considering that once the government has this information, there are few if any rules as to what the government can do with it.
They who can give up liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety
