Since former president Nixon declared war on drugs, the United States has since wasted billions of taxpayer dollars on a problem that has only gotten worse. Along with this, many local police have been militarize to fight this "war". This war has failed. people will only continue to use drugs, just like people continued to drink alcohol in the 1920's. instead of wasting money on this, we should instead start paying off the national debt.
