This petition is to address the concerns of aspiring LEGAL immigrants who are highly educated, hard working, tax paying individuals who have to wait many years to get a green card.
There is no discrimination based on country of birth while getting a job, but there is discrimination while getting a green card in the Employment based category. This is the reason why it takes many years for Indians and Chinese to get green cards, while people from other countries get it in less than a year. This is unfair and also inhibits us from living, spending and traveling freely.
Expediting the green card approval process for employment based category does not need new legislation, many issues can be fixed by an administrative fix.
The per country limit needs to be abolished immediately.
